Why Belize?
When Reese (My Husband) and I first got engaged, our Honeymoon was the first thing we planned! The excitement and anticipation was unmatched. And because we finalized our Honeymoon first, we were able to perfectly curate ways to save as we planned our wedding.
A little bit about us, Reese and I are not your “sit around and relax” type of vacationers. Do we enjoy it from time to time? Yes. But we wanted be intentional about the mix of adventure and relaxation when curating our perfect vacation.
Which landed us with the perfect conclusion. 7 nights in Belize. 3 nights in the Jungle & 4 nights on an Island. The first half of our week spent hiking, caving, canoeing and exploring Mayan Ruins, with the back half of the week on the water, snorkeling, fishing & and pure relaxation.

Nestled in the jungle, just a short (but steep) walk from downtown, San Ignacio Resort Hotel offered more than just a place to stay—it provided a warm, welcoming experience that felt like family from the moment we arrived. The dedicated staff went above and beyond to make us immediately feel right at home. Even going to lengths to help us spot multiple Toucans during our stay (a bucket list accomplishment for us)! The food was authentic, delicious and well priced. And our room was just what we needed to come back to after long days adventuring! We spent hours in the plunge pool watching birds!
Xunantunich Mayan Ruins
We fell in love with San Ignacio. And frankly, we had multiple conversations about moving there. All unrealistic due to the existence of our 2 80lb pitbulls & inflexible careers, but it’s the thought that counts.
